Hey everybody, Ryan here at Etrailer. Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Firestone air helper springs for the rear axle. Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check 'em out and make sure they're gonna be right for you. So what we'll do is give ya a real life example on how these springs can help eliminate sag, and the truck squatting down in the back, so, right now we're backed up to a camper, don't have any weight on it or anything, but we're ready to go more or less. And just outta curiosity, see where our truck's sitting at the factory ride height. And from the ground to the bottom edge of our wheel well, that's right at 40 inches. more

Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Ford F-150- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Ford F-150. And we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs. This kit is going to essentially consist of two leaf springs that you're going to add to the top of your leaf pack. And essentially what they're designed to do is to help keep the back end of your truck up, when normally your truck would be sagging. The biggest issue with the newer trucks that are coming out, especially the half-ton trucks, is because they want to make the suspension soft enough to where it's comfortable to drive when it's unloaded, but they have to put a little bit of strength into it so that you can still tow a trailer and the truck doesn't sag to the ground. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have the Firestone Red Label Air Helper Springs to help to support the rear end of your 2019 Ford F-450. Air helper springs are going to help to support the rear end of your vehicle when you're hauling the load either in the bed or from the hitch. The biggest reason to get these is if you're feeling uncomfortable when driving on the road. They're going to install between the top of our axle and the bottom of our frame rail and they're just there to support the rear end. A lot of times when you're hauling those heavy loads whether it's in the bed of your truck or on the hitch, it's very uncomfortable to drive down the road if your front end is up in the air, your headlights aren't pointing in the right direction anymore, so you're brightening people going down the road. more

This is what the Hellwig suspension upgrade can look like underneath your truck, and it's a really simple concept how it works, right So the Hellwig spring pack is going to essentially attach to your factory spring pack and that's how it's gonna provide that additional support. So whenever you have weight in the back of the truck or hooked up to your trailer, whatever, your suspension is going to want to squat down. Firestone Ride-Rite Extreme Duty Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Air Helper Springs. These air springs are gonna mount between the frame of your vehicle and the axle, and what they're designed to do is they're designed to take some of the load so that not all of the load, whether it's in your bed or on your hitch, is going to be on your vehicle suspension. They're gonna give you a much more comfortable ride and help you to level that load. A lot of times, what's happening with these heavier-duty trucks is the suspension is a little bit softer from the manufacturer's, so that the truck is more comfortable when you're driving around every day. Well, that doesn't really help you when it comes to towing a trailer, or in the case of this truck, they're towing a big fifth wheel trailer that weighs 18,000 pounds when loaded down fully. more

Air helper springs are going to be airbags that install between the bottom of your frame and the top of your axle. And they're designed to help to carry the rear end of your truck when you've got a heavy load either on the hitch or in the bed of your truck. The nicest part about airbags is that the air pressure is going to be adjustable. So you can adjust the stiffness where there's a lot of other components out there that you can use as rear-end enhancement, suspension enhancement that are not going to be adjustable. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs on a 2019 Ford F53 chassis. And this is what your SumoSpring is gonna look like when it's installed on your chassis. And it does have to be drilled into the frame for your top mounting plate. But the bottom bracket, just simply bolts around your leaf springs and this is gonna create a cushion between the frame of the vehicle and the leaf springs and just help absorb a lot of the shock that your factory suspension just doesn't handle very well. The big thing with RVs like this, as you drive them side to side, you're gonna notice a lot of sway, and on the freeway, you may get wind kind of blowing you back and forth and this is gonna help stabilize that because it creates a larger, it fills this gap essentially, whereas your factory jounce, it's pretty small, and it takes a lot for it to finely compress enough for it to bottom out before you feel anything. And that's the difference is the SumoSpring is gonna fill that void and be comfortable throughout. more

Today on our 2022 GMC Sierra 2500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs over the rear axle, but before we get into that, let's take a minute, check these out and make sure they're gonna work for you. So what an airbag is going to do is provide your truck with additional support here in the back. And whenever you're hooked up to a real heavy trailer or got a bunch of weight in the bed of your truck, what tends to happen is a truck squats down and kind of gives you a poor ride. It's not ideal to drive around like that. Your suspension's getting overworked, or your ride quality is poor and things of that nature, and so with air spring back here, it's gonna give you that extra support to get the truck level again, and in general, just improve your overall ride quality and help prolong the life of all your factory suspension components. more

In today's case though, our truck bed is just full of stuff, has a big, huge cargo management system in there, and we usually put a big, heavy tank back there to really get weight over that axle and test some air springs out. But because of that, not really able to get the weight back there. So figured at the very least maybe we can cruise around, kind of get a feel for 'em, and see how they're gonna affect our ride when we don't have something super heavy back there. more

Hello, neighbors, I's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000 Ultimate Plus rear helper airbags with internal jounce bumpers on a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 LD. Adding airbags to a vehicle is definitely one of the quickest ways to get that sag removed when having a load on it. And there's other options out there as far as internal jounce bumpers. But as far as adjustability goes, airbags are the king because, well, you can add pressure as necessary. And these ones are gonna be a manual dual-path, which means that you have individual control of each bag and you're gonna be be manually filling them. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Ford F-150, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs. What air helper springs are designed to do is provide support in the rear end of your truck when you're hauling either a heavy load in the bed, or from the hitch on the back. There's a couple different reasons of why this is a really good addition to your vehicle is if you have a smaller fifth wheel camper, or a travel trailer that you're pulling, maybe a car trailer, something like that, that your truck is constantly sagging in the rear, making it uncomfortable to drive. This is designed to bring it back up to where the truck is level. It's not necessarily designed to bring it back up to factory ride height, because at that point, you've got a little too much air in it. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Airbags. There's a lot of different reasons why you might be wanting to add a set of airbags to your truck. The specific reason we have here is our driver here is a hotshot driver, which means he just delivers small LTL loads for different companies and stuff. So he's pulling a 50-foot gooseneck trailer and he needs support in the rear end of his truck. The factory suspension, even though this is a 3500, they do come pretty stiff, but once you get closer to that max capacity to the truck, the back end of the truck starts to sag pretty good. more

Now adding these to your RV is really just gonna give you a much better ride overall. And having better handling, especially with something that's maintenance free is really great because every time you drive your RV, you're gonna notice the difference and the factory ride is, it feels top heavy on the suspension, you know, it doesn't really work a whole lot, and this is really just gonna supplement all that weight of our RV by going in between our leaf springs and mounting up to the frame, so this is gonna add extra cushion and these are made to absorb quite a bit. So those harsh bumps will be absorbed, but also heavier loads. These are progressive, so as you add weight, these are gonna fight back and give your suspension a fighting chance. They also help with sway side to side, because as you lean one side, these are gonna fight back, bringing the vehicle back to a nice flat plane and get your responsive steering back. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs on a 2013 Fleetwood Bounder Classic. Adding these to your front suspension is going to add a lot of added benefits, not just supporting weight, but also it's gonna allow for sway to be reduced, and it's gonna get a little bit more planted of a feel as you drive, meaning you're gonna get more steering feedback and it's gonna just have a little bit quicker steering response, and overall, it's gonna be a little bit more comfortable because this is gonna absorb a lot of that shock. Your factory jounce bumpers are pretty short. So for that to actually make contact, it takes quite a bit of pretty heavy hits on the road for that to even do anything where these engage pretty quickly. And that's the great part too is this two piece design allows for this to really open up. So your suspension is still able to move quite a bit without limiting the travel, but you get all the added benefit of that cushioning as well as the weight support. more

If you use your truck like a truck, you know that every time you load it down, your truck kind of sags in the back. And you're gonna get usually a terrible ride, and your headlights are gonna be shooting up as you're going down the road, Air Lift load springs are gonna bring your truck back to the factory ride height, that's gonna be the most comfortable ride and the safest ride. For instance, on our truck today, this truck has already been outfitted with some great storage units in the back of this truck, and it came to us loaded down here. So we're gonna get some measurements on it just to see what their normal day-to-day ride height looks like on this. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Ram 1500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Timbren SES rear suspension enhancement system. Now, when it comes to rear enhancement suspension systems, you're gonna have a couple of different options. First off, it's gonna be your least aggressive option, which will be like a set of Sumo Springs. They're essentially going to be a softer foam like Timbren or a jounce-style bumper. Next up is going to be your Timbrens, which is a more aggressive version of a jounce bumper made out of a harder rubber, designed to support heavier loads. more

A prime example of why you should get a set of airbags is right behind us. We have a truck here that tows a fifth-wheel camper and the pin weight on it is about 2,000 pounds. That is a lot of weight pushing down on the bed of this truck. So adding a set of airbags, they will sit in between the axle of your truck in the frame and they're designed to take some of the weight so that your vehicle suspension doesn't have to do all the work. more

Now, the ProMaster 3500s, you see a lot of times, as work vans or delivery vans, but you can see here, we have it in the van life configuration. And so, either way, you're gonna have weight associated with it, and that really means that this already fairly tall vehicle just feels a little bit more top heavy. And as far as steering, it's kind of numb from the factory, and adding weight's just gonna make it that much worse. So, adding these is not only going to just fill the void in the spring, and really help supplement it, it's gonna just give you that better overall handling, and just better steering feel throughout, not only just parking lots, but out on the highway, and that's kind of a great thing to have, and especially in something like this. It's kind of a big sail out on the highway, so if you can kind of reduce some of that sway side to side, it's gonna be a great addition, and you're really gonna notice it every time you drive. more

Air Lift 1000 Rear Coil Springs Air Helper Springs Installation - 2019 Nissan Pathfinder- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift 1000 rear air helper bags on a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. Now our neighbor today is putting airbags on their suspension, and that's because they tow a trailer so that tongue weight pushes down and it causes the Pathfinder to squat down, which this is not exactly the heaviest duty towing but to have those airbags to help that just kinda lift that back up, it's gonna make the Pathfinder feel like it can tow it a little bit better, because you're supplementing the suspension with a thousand pounds of load capacity. So that's really gonna help this out. And another application, or a few different applications would be if you take this on vacation and you load up a cargo carrier or if you have a mobility scooter or even a heavy bike rack, sometimes that's just gonna squat down and you're not gonna get a great ride. So adding a little bit of air to your bags will help supplement that, giving you a better driving experience. And this is what your airbags will look like when they're installed. more

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing these SumoSprings solo custom helper springs for the rear axle on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500. Now, these have a 1500 pound capacity, and that's not necessarily going to add capacity to your truck, it's kind of what they're rated for as far as what weight you'll be using. So, if you have a payload in the back of the truck that's about 1500, that's gonna be perfect. Or if you have a fifth wheel or a trailer that puts a decent amount of tongue weight on your truck, this is gonna help regardless. And really, the great part about these is they engage quicker than your factory jounce bumpers and they're also progressive. more

So what we're gonna do today is we're going to talk about and show you how to install the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs. This is going to replace your factory bump stop, and it's gonna be a little bit bigger, so it's gonna activate a lot sooner. Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 airbags for the rear axle on a 2020 Ford F-350 Super Duty. So we're out on our test course. We're gonna hit some bumps, and we don't have any weight in the bed. We have a fifth wheel in there, and normally we load that up with 1,500 pounds or so, and you can really notice a difference, but you're not always gonna have a load in your truck. So we're gonna drive it around just to see how it feels under normal driving, and a lotta times, people say airbags are rough, and I don't know if that's necessarily the word. It's definitely a firm ride, but the ability to adjust that on the fly is really nice by letting pressure out so you can get a nice comfortable ride, and I think the thing is is a firm ride is not a bad thing when you have a trailer or a camper or anything, even just dirt or something in the back, because being able to get your steering response back is gonna make towing just a lot better. more

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna walk you through the installation of the Firestone RED Label Ride-Rite air helper springs on our 2022 GMC Sierra 2500. Now, a lot of people ask what is the main purpose of adding a set of airbags or air helper springs like we have here to your vehicle And essentially what they're designed to do is they're designed to help take some of the load. As you can see here, we have about between 15 and 1600 pounds in the bed of our truck. And before we had airbags, we had about 2 1/2 inches of squat. So these set of airbags is going to help to level up the truck or at least bring it back up closer to that factory ride height and eliminate some of that squat in the rear. more

SumoSprings Solo Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2020 Nissan Frontier- Video
Hey guys, it's Shane here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2020 Nissan Frontier and we're gonna be adding these SumoSprings to it to help support the rear suspension. What these are designed to do is they will replace your bump stops on the factory rear suspension and they're designed to be a little bit taller than your factory bump stops in order to provide that extra support when you're hauling a heavy load, whether it be in the bed or by the hitch on your Frontier. We're gonna take a few measurements before we install our SumoSprings. And with no weight in the back of the truck, we're right at 35 inches. Now that we've got about 450 pounds worth of rock salt in the back of our truck, we can take another measurement. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2021 Winnebago View Motorhome- Video
Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2021 Winnebago View and we're gonna be installing some Timbrens on it to help with the rear suspension. A big question we get here at etrailer is how can I control the body roll or limit it in my RV Well, Timbren is just one of the many suspension enhancements that you can put on your RV because what'll happen is because an RV is so tall, you're gonna have a lot of wind that's causing body roll, bumps in the road, sharp turns. That's all gonna cause the vehicle to rock side to side and that can be a really uneasy feeling. Adding these Timbrens, they're going to replace your jounce bumpers on your motorhome and they're going to engage much faster than the jounce bumpers would have to. The springs we're installing today are gonna be a progressive spring and what that means is the more and more they compress the harder they're gonna work to eliminate that body roll. more
